Back at the end of July we told you that the Liberty Square Riverboat would continue refurbishment through the fall. We also said that a portion of Rivers of America would be drained to assist in completing this work. Today crews were on-site assisting with the beginning of the installation of an inflatable dam. This dam will keep water in a portion of Rivers of America while allowing the drained portion to be worked on, similar to how Disneyland rerouted their Rivers of America last year. Tom Sawyer’s Island operations will NOT be impacted by the work being done.

This framework will hold the inflatable dam in place while work is being completed near the Liberty Belle’s loading dock.

It’s not yet across the entire river, that should be completed this week and dam installation will be immediately after.
