In this review, we’ll be covering The Cheese Studio, which is located in Future World West in the pathway to World Showcase near the Imagination pavilion. While two of the kiosk’s mainstays remain, gone is last year’s onion tart, replaced by a new maple cheesecake that tastes as gouda as it looks. (Sorry, had to!)

Braised Beef Stroganoff with Tiny Egg Noodles, Wild Mushroom and Boursin Garlic with Fine Herbs Cheese Sauce – $5.25
Last year the “stroganoff” didn’t impress. The egg noodles got to know the cheese sauce a little too well making them over-inflated and giving them a consistency that was just gross. There’s a solid portion of braised beef on top that tasted just fine, but the overall dish wasn’t one of our “must gets”. Out of all the festival dishes to return this year how did this one much the cut but the Avocado Cream at Active Eats didn’t?

Last year’s cheese trio makes a comeback, with the salmon and strawberry macaron as key standouts (albeit not together.) You get three unique, individual pieces for the $5.50 price tag making this a good value for the Food & Wine festival. The flavor profile for each of the items is exceedingly different, we recommend eating one at a time and taking a drink of water between samplings. You’ll be glad you did.
Maple Bourbon Boursin Cheesecake with Maple Bourbon Cream, Caramel and Pecan Crunch (V) – $4.50
Move over, onion tart! Make way for maple cream! This stellar dessert arrives nice and cold with a great maple flavor that permeates the entire cheesecake. There’s easily enough to split among a family here and at a $4.50 price tag you can’t go wrong with this fantastic dessert.
Domaine Saint André de Figuière Rosé, Côtes de Provence ($18/bottle) – $5.00
Yup, it’s wine. This bottle of rose retails for about $18 outside of Walt Disney World making $5 a glass a hard swallow. Fortunately the wine is served nice and cold and pairs well with the other offerings from the Cheese Studio.
