Shutters Is No More, New Table Service Restaurant at Caribbean Beach Will Be Named After a Disney Character

Despite all of the press releases and concept art saying so, the new waterfront restaurant at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort will not be named Shutters.

The restaurant’s new name will be Sebastian’s, named after the character of the same name from Disney’s The Little Mermaid. The adjacent Banana Cabana will retain the former name.

The new locations were originally announced as opening this Summer, but all signage with an opening date has since been removed.

Disney has yet to announce the new name or an opening date for the restaurant.

  1. Can you please help me understand how we know the name changed to Sebastian’s from Shutters and that it was originally announced to open this summer, when then the last line in the article says “Disney has yet to announce the new name or an opening date for the restaurant?”
