If you’ve taken an elevator recently at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, than you may have heard a very familiar voice…

Depending which elevator you enter in the main tower of the Contemporary, you will hear Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, or Chip announce what floor you have arrived at. It’s a nice touch and one we’d like to see at other Walt Disney World Resort Hotels!

This isn’t new, just reimplemented. It’s been off you a number of years but I have fond memories of chip and dale’s voice while heading to Chef Mickey’s.

I remember it too. A true re-design would be to scan the environment, see who is in the elevator via magic band (optionally determine where that person has selected or if they are staying on a certain floor), and then personalize that message. Ex: Mickey says “It looks like we’ve arrived at the 4th floor Tim. Have a nice day!”

It can be done, but will they?
