Joining the lineup of resort runs at Walt Disney World is Yacht & Beach Club’s Regatta Run. This 3k begins at Bayside Marina and takes runners up the pathway toward Hollywood Studios before turning around and running through The Boardwalk and ending back at the marina.
This run is scenic, refreshing, and an excellent way for guests to see all that the area has to offer. The $15 entry fee, standard of the resort races, is well worth it, as the prizes at the end blows other resorts out of the water.
Besides the usual bib number, water, and fruit, each runner will receive a nautical themed bag filled with Yacht & Beach Club Resort labeled sunglasses and the coveted exclusive pin. The pin is blue, shaped like a light house with a ship’s steering wheel in the back. The wheel is labeled “Regatta Run 2018” and spins around. This is the only place you’ll be able to find this pin.
Runners older than twelve will also receive a pair of headphones in a plastic, key-chained case, also labeled “Yacht & Beach Club Resort.” Runners under the age of twelve will receive a nautical themed rubber duck and some chocolate.
The Yacht & Beach Club Resort plans on partnering with The Boardwalk in the future, combining their two races into a challenge. While nothing is official yet, if the challenge does happen, runners who participate in both events will receive a special finishing prize.
The Regatta Run will officially be put on the Yacht & Beach Club’s schedule in September, taking place every Thursday morning, starting on September 6th, at 8:00am. Sign-up can be done in advance by calling the hotel, or runners can simply sign up the morning of.
