Complimentary Ziploc Bags Coming to Splash Mountain “Soon”

Back in July, we reported that Ziploc bags would soon be available at Splash Mountain at the Magic Kingdom, and now we can confirm it.

Disney recently announced that the bags would be available at the ride “soon”. The bags, which will feature an exclusive design for the ride, are designed to protect guests’ personal belongings as they experience the iconic log flume attraction. Guests will be able to recycle the bags at designated bins at the exit to the attraction, or at any outside plastic recycling location. But with the exclusive designs for the bags, they may prove to be a fun, free souvenir. Word is still unclear as to whether this deal also comes with a Ziploc sponsorship for the ride.

This is Ziploc’s second collaboration with the Disney Parks. Last July, Ziploc also took over sponsorship of the Kidcot Fun Stops at Epcot’s World Showcase, where guests can collect trading cards from each country in a specially-designed Kidcot Ziploc bag.

There’s no word yet as to when exactly the bags will be introduced, but we will update you as the story develops.

  1. Would you need to use two bags to protect your phone? Are they saying the bag would keep dampness out of phone? I always brought zip type bags for each phone and then used any other bag storage they offered on the ride.

  2. Disney takes one step forward and eliminates straws, lids, and plastic bags in an effort to reduce the massive plastic island harming our oceans, water supply, and health. Then they take two steps backwards to give away plastic “souvenirs” which are clearly trash. It is disappointing that the companies with whom they seek sponsorship are aligned in opposition to their environmental policies. I guess enough money buys hypocrisy.

  3. Honestly Splash Mountain would be some of the best advertising for Ziplock. Some people pack them just for water rides!
