If you’ve ever tried to use your phone to redeem a FastPass at the Disneyland Resort, you know that the bright sunshine or the brightness setting on your device can make things a little difficult. Disney has decided to combat this by introducing new scanners, with the first installed at “it’s a small world”.
The new scanner has an area for the phone to be inserted. The dark area makes the barcode much easier to scan.
The old scanners looked like this:
As you can see, the device would be subject to brighter conditions with this scanner. Hopefully these new ones will help shorten the sometimes lengthy waits to redeem a FastPass at Disneyland and Disney California Adventure.
They need to just move to disney world’s system with the magic bands.
Interesting. I’ve used my phone for fast pass scanning ever since it became available, and ive never had an issue.
It looks like the Shanghai Disneyland ones.
