Ever since Disneyland Resort called off their plans to build a fourth hotel, walls have stayed up around the closed businesses and buildings that were supposed to be demolished to make room for it. Here is an updated look at the walls up and what is to come in the next few months at Downtown Disney.

Naples Ristorante and Napolini Deli

Napolini Deli, a quick service pizza location is still behind walls. Naples Ristorante, which used to connect to Napoli was just recently refurbished to include a new patio and dining area. No news on when Napolini Deli will reopen has been released. The Downtown Disney dining webpage calendar, that goes out to January 2, 2019, currently has no hours available either.

Wetzel’s Pretzels

Wetzel’s Pretzels appears to not have any hours available through January 2, 2019 on the Downtown Disney dining webpage either. The Disneyland app has conflicting information though and shows Wetzel’s Pretzels off of the refurbishment list on November 11. As of now, walls are still up and construction is still very much happening.

Ballast Point and Black Tap

Ballast Point does not have an official opening date yet, and no outside signs of construction are visible from the sidewalk near Catal Restaurant’s Uva Bar.

Black Tap is set to open by the end of 2018. From the sidewalk there is no visible construction, but the personalized wall and “coming soon” sign give us hope that it will open soon.

Walls and Food Trucks

A new wall has been put up in the last few days between the old Rainforest Cafe location and the Downtown Disney monorail station. No official word on what will become of this location, or the others, has been released. This section from the monorail station to the hotels and exit of Downtown Disney is pretty scarce. Food trucks are available after 3:00 PM, and evening entertainment is still happening nightly. The only business that has reopened is the popular Earl of Sandwich in its previous location near the Disneyland Hotel security exit.

The Habit Burger Grill sits between the closed Starbucks and AMC movie theater locations.

Crepes Bonaparte is available in front of the closed Disney Vacation Club location.

Mad Dumplings is across from the other two trucks, in front of the old Rainforest Cafe entrance.

Our final wall spotted on the way to the Downtown Disney parking lot is one in front of the closed ESPN Zone location. No word on what will become of this location either.

Overall, Downtown Disney is full of construction and little official word on opening dates or changes is known. We will be back though with any updates or changes as the end of the year nears.
