The cables for the brand new Skyliner have now been fully installed at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

The Skyliner, which is set to open in Fall 2019, will carry guests via gondolas between Walt Disney World’s Hollywood Studios and Epcot parks, as well as a number of the surrounding resorts.

The cables are now fully installed at Hollywood Studios’ Skyliner station.
Work seems to be moving fast on the new Walt Disney World transportation system, despite the Fall 2019 opening date.

The installation of these cables marks the latest development in the construction of Disney’s newest mode of transport, so make sure to keep your eyes peeled for more updates soon.

  1. Anyone know why there’s such a time gap between this stage of construction and the stated opening date? I understand thorough testing, but the gap seems unusually long.

  2. Ski areas install larger, longer gondola and detachable chairlift systems on much more rugged terrain during their six month off seasons every year. I’m still at a loss how Disney can make this a two year process.
