We have some interesting photos to share with you from Hollywood Studios today. It appears that they have torn down the gates that open into Sunset Showcase in preparation for Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy. Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy pulls into Disney’s Hollywood Studios on March 31st, which means they’re in construction crunch mode for the upcoming attraction.

No more gate to Sunset Showcase. Now it’s just these planters…

… which can be easily peered over and into the upcoming attraction. When the show debuts, guests will see Lightning McQueen board a giant racing simulator as seen in Cars 3. The massive prop is said to work just like the one seen in the movie, complete with rather large, custom-made projection surface.

We also spotted the old Cruz Ramirez meet and greet backdrop disassembled on the floor. She will be greeting guests outside when the new show debuts.
