This week, we’ve got more construction updates from around the Disneyland Resort.
New Parking Structure
Construction continues on the new parking structure. It is quickly starting to resemble the concept art previously released. Escalator ramps and stairwells have been added, and a lot of the visible work is being done to the roof and far end.
Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge
From the roof of Mickey and Friends Parking Structure, you can get a decent view of the backside of the Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge construction.
The scaffolding has already come down from many of the spires that are the heart of Black Spire Outpost.
Sleeping Beauty Castle
Over at Sleeping Beauty Castle, a scrim of the castle now covers the front side, and a scrim of Prince Phillip fighting Maleficent has been applied to the backside.
My favorite part is Flora, Fauna, and Merryweather at the top.
While the castle scrim isn’t a replacement for the actual castle, it does provide a better backdrop for photos than scaffolding.
French Market
French Market in New Orleans Square has also covered up the scaffolding with an image of the building. I think this is a great improvement over the scaffolding and provides a much nicer dining experience.
Rivers of America
Work is being done at the Rivers of America for the return of Fantasmic! in the spring. Once Fantasmic! has returned, you will also be able to view the new nighttime spectacular, Mickey’s Mix Magic, on the mist screens as well.
Eastern Security Checkpoint
Permanent structures are being build at the eastern security checkpoint. The new security checkpoint design will hopefully allow this entrance to handle the large crowds that come from Harbor Boulevard and the transportation plaza more efficiently.
Keep following along for continued updates on construction projects and more from the Disneyland Resort.
