Today, we saw new vertical construction starting on one of the islands in the middle of World Showcase Lagoon at Epcot for what looks like will be a part of the brand new nighttime show.

In November it was announced that IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth would be replaced with a new nighttime show, “A Celebration of Disney Music”. This would feature large floating set pieces, custom-built LED panels, kites with special effects, choreographed moving fountains, lights, pyrotechnics, and lasers. A temporary show called Epcot Forever will fill in between both shows starting in the fall.

Back in October, we saw electrical work starting for the new nighttime show. Now we have something a little more concrete to view the progress of this construction.

Although we’re not entirely sure what this new addition is at the moment, it’s will be changing the views across the lagoon quite a bit. We will keep you posted as new information is available and as construction continues.
