While visiting Tokyo Disneyland recently, we got a good look at the ongoing construction of the new Beauty and the Beast attraction and the massive Fantasyland/Tomorrowland/Toontown Expansion going on at the park. You can check out our last update on this construction project here.
Here we see the Beast’s castle from across the park. This is the patio of Crystal Palace.
Here’s concept art to give you an idea of the size and scope of the project.
You can check out plenty of photos of the model for the expansion here.
The Fantastland portion includes Belle’s Village, the Beauty and the Beast dark ride, and a theater which will open in 2020.
A look into the village.
Here we see the Castle looming over the village.
Tall construction walls and scrim obscure the view from Tomorrowland. Here’s where the Baymax attraction and the specialty popcorn shop will reside.
A themed chimney peeks out.
A better look at the Castle.
Here the Toontown facades on the left meet Belle’s village on the right.
This structure will be home to a Minnie Mouse meet and greet.
Here’s where Minnie’s Style Studio will be. Guests can experience the first Disney Character greeting facility where they can meet “Fashion Designer” Minnie.
You can see the marquee area through the scrim.
Construction is quite visible from Toontown.
The Beauty and the Beast show building rises over Toontown.

This new expansion is set to open in Spring of 2020.
Stay tuned for the next Beauty and the Beast construction update as the project advances throughout the coming months!
I love how Disney learned from the backlash of the size of the beast castle in magic kingdom. there will finally be an actually big towering beast castle in one of the Disney parks. hope at some point that they do something like that for the beast’s castle in magic kingdom.
