When visiting the Magic Kingdom, you can’t help but notice the water around the castle has been drained. It isn’t very pretty, so let’s hope it doesn’t take too long to widen the pathway around Cinderella Castle.
The dam-like structures on the Tomorrowland side of the park are being put to good use. We can see high reaches parked around Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Café.
Cosmic Ray’s seems to be getting a fresh coat of paint. It’s nice to see other much-needed maintenance taking place during this time.
Tire tracks can be seen in the sludge closer to the castle.
Closer to Liberty Square, we can see curtains hung from the bridge. There’s still a little bit of water on the “dry” side of the moat. We noticed the creeping water on our last visit. There also seems to be a second barrier in place, like a row of sandbags.
Parts of the ground have been dug up and some areas are marked with caution tape.
This used to be a quiet spot to take castle photos, but soon it will be transformed into a much wider path to accommodate more foot traffic around the castle. You can look at the area and envision the expansion. The pathway is still open, so make sure you get in all of your golden sunset photos while you can.
I always wondered if there was a Monster in the moat. I guess I know the answer.
The sludge is the stuff of nightmares, but I’m sure it’s fun to drive around in.
This is just the beginning to the pathway widening project, so we’ll be keeping a close eye on the progress. Make sure you stay tuned to WDWNT for more updates!
when will the widening be done? did they ever announce they’re expected time line?
i LOLed super hard when i finally spotted the monster in the moat!
The track in the moat was for the swan boats, right?
