RUMOR: ABC Commissary at Disney’s Hollywood Studios Closing for Brief Refurbishment on May 4th

With Advance Dining Reservations open for dinner at ABC Commissary starting June 2nd, big preparations are underway for the restaurant. There’s a self-service beverage station that’s been under construction for a few weeks now, and with new Art Deco elements and furnishings to be added to the space for the new dinner seatings, it appears the restaurant will be closing temporarily come May 4th.

According to Cast Members at the location, the restaurant will be closing for a brief refurbishment on May 4th. Work inside the restaurant is expected to last about 20 days, so it should reopen just in time for the Memorial Day weekend, with fast casual dinner service starting the following week.

In all honesty, we half expected them to add three or four planters to the area and call it a day, but now we’re excited to see what improvements come to ABC Commissary once it opens back up at the end of May.

Currently, no closures are listed on the restaurant’s official page, but we will update you as soon as anything appears to be confirmed.

  1. It’s not a rumor. It’s a 100% confirmed news item that’s been shared with all studios cast to tell guests. It basically entails new carpet, paint, and furniture. Dinner should be full table service, I believe.
