The Flower and Garden Festival may still be upon us for another month or so, but the Summer weather has hit Epcot already. Let’s see what the park has in store for us today!
Merchandise and Sales in Mouse Gear
A selection of Flower and Garden Festival merchandise is on sale throughout the park. You don’t get to see sales very often in Disney Parks, so it’s always interesting when they crop up.
It even includes some of the Passholder merchandise that just recently came out.
They also had a sale going on this specific design of flip-flops. It’s really not a bad deal.
If you collect shot glasses I mean, “toothpick holders”, they’re also on sale.
With the new Aladdin film coming out soon, they have a selection of merchandise from the original movie.
This Rajah plush has a tremendously long tail.
They have a few other classic animated versions of characters as well.
Did anyone bother to go see Disneynature Penguins? Even if you didn’t, these Penguins plush are really cute.
We also found a new addition to the Classic Cozy Knits line––Mr. Toad! You can see more of him here.
Construction and Maintenance
The Garden Grill is still hiding behind planted trees. The turntable upon which it rotates seems to be up and running again, but the restaurant itself is still cloaked.
We’re still waiting on the debut of “Awesome Planet” in the Harvest Theater.
The pre-show area is curtained off, and it looks like they’ve been using it for private events. You can see a little catering station between the wall and the curtains.
Construction walls have gone up behind the restrooms between the Refreshment Port and the Imagination Pavilion.
They cleared all the trees from this area, too. I’m personally hoping they’re going to expand those restrooms. I think they’re the smallest ones in the park.
Over in Imagination’s Imageworks, one of the “build your own figment” stations was having a bit of trouble.
It crashed to the desktop.
I find it funny that someone chose this photo of a koala as the desktop background.
The bricks in the American Adventure courtyard are almost all replaced now. Looking good!
Not much outward progress on the new restaurant in the Japan Pavilion.
Concrete work is continuing near the Friendship Boats at International Gateway.
They’ve also installed what will be a temporary Guest Relations booth in the same area. Work will continue around International Gateway for a while, so this booth will come in handy.
The Seas
After a long day in the heat, I like to walk around The Seas pavilion. They just recently re-did the coral tanks on the first floor.
Pure relaxation.
That’s it for today! I’m making it my goal to enjoy every corner of Future World as it is now before it goes under the knife. We’ll keep you updated on everything at Epcot as it happens!
