It’s been a couple months since we last checked in on the progress of the upcoming new addition to the Swan and Dolphin Resort complex, “The Cove”. It’s still looking like a lot of construction walls and some big piles of dirt for now though, but they have added some concept art added to the walls that line the pathway to the Fantasia Gardens Mini Golf course.

The Cove will be an additional tower at the Swan and Dolphin and will include 349 rooms. The hotel will be across the street from the Swan and Dolphin on Epcot Resorts Boulevard, near the Fantasia Garden miniature golf course.

This part of the site is the former home of the picnic pavilions as well as part of the old parking lot. Most of this space will be a new parking lot for the hotel and golf course.

This area was formerly the tennis court. Its looking like this space will be the site of the new tower hotel.

Since it had been a little rainy and gloomy today, there wasn’t a lot of activity at all on the construction sites, which meant it was pretty quiet and a good day to play around at the Fantasia Gardens golf course, which has so far remained open and unaffected during this construction.

It looks like they still have quite a ways to go, but we’ll continue to keep you updated as this project keeps progressing, so stay tuned!

  1. Part of the charm of WDW (and part of Walt’s vision) was that things were spaced out and they didn’t hang over top of each other. This is another thing that destroys that feel.

Also, I wonder if that is enough parking for the extra room AND the mini golf.
