From a new holiday fireworks spectacular to becoming a captain on Disney Cruise Line, Minnie Mouse seems to be having a resurgence as of late. Now, Tokyo Disneyland is getting in on the act with a limited-time celebration of all things Minnie, appropriately titled “Very Very Minnie!”
This celebration, running from January 10th to March 19th, 2020, will feature special entertainment, merchandise, and specialty menu items at Tokyo Disneyland and at select Tokyo Disney Resort hotels. One of the key pieces of this celebration will be a new stage show at Showbase in Tomorrowland: “It’s Very Minnie!” From Tokyo Disney Resort: “In this brand new revue, Minnie Mouse and her Disney Friends put on a lively performance of songs and dances that range from cute and sweet to Latin and club styles. Featured throughout will be various styles of costumes and music from entertainment that Guests have enjoyed over the years.” The 25-minute show will be performed 4-5 times daily at the park.
And if that’s not enough excitement, a new interactive pre-parade, “Very Minnie Remix,” will take to the streets of Tokyo Disneyland. From Toyko Disney Resort: “Minnie Mouse and her Disney Friends not only dance to new music, but they combine elements of entertainment from the past as well to give the parade a fresh, yet nostalgic atmosphere. The music and dancing will vary depending on the day and where along the parade route the Guests watch the parade, so they can enjoy the performance differently each time they view it.”
This all comes in advance of the opening of “Minnie’s Style Studio,” a new character meet-and-greet facility schedule to open in Toontown in spring 2020.
Unfortunately, there’s also some sad news to report. In advance of “It’s Very Minnie!” opening at Showbase, “One Man’s Dream II － The Magic Lives On” will permanently close on December 13th, 2019. So if you’re looking to see the show (well, if you win their lottery, anyway) before it closes, be sure to hurry to Tokyo Disneyland.
