PHOTO REPORT: Disney Springs 7/22/19 (Shoulder Porgs, NBA Experience, and Beverly Isn’t Gone Yet)

Welcome to another day at Disney Springs! I particularly love summer days spent at Disney Springs, because it means the majority of my time is inside shops and restaurants, which means air conditioning. Let’s get this photo report started!

The Lion King promo is heavy on the West Side of Springs with it being the opening weekend of the new film. I haven’t made it out to see the new movie yet, and I was holding off listening to the new soundtrack until I saw the movie… until today. The entire music loop on the West Side is currently the new Lion King soundtrack, so if you’re heading to see the movie and want to avoid the spoilers of hearing the new songs first, be warned (and walk with your fingers in your ears like I tried to).

nba experience

The NBA Experience is still working on getting geared up for its anticipated August 12th grand opening. We’re heard rumors of possible Cast Previews that have already started happening, so we’ve got our fingers crossed over here for a potential soft opening. In the meantime, the NBA Store adjacent to the Experience opened a few days ago, check out the post for a full photo/video tour!

shoulder porg

In the Star Wars Galactic Outpost, these cutie little shoulder Porgs have arrived. They come with a small magnet platform to put under your shirt to make sure he stays perfectly perched on your shoulder all day. Honestly, this is one of the best pieces of merch I’ve seen lately, and I kind of regret not adopting the little angel that I tried on on my shoulder.

I’m still a little mad at Chewie for eating one. NOT COOL, BRO.

sleeping beauty leggings

In DisneyStyle, I came across these Sleeping Beauty leggings (FINALLY my tattoo is in theme). I appreciate the Sleeping Beauty love, I adore the Make It Pink/Make It Blue nod they did with the gradient of the coloring on these leggings. They’re priced at $39.99.

Starbucks marketplace

I always love checking in at the Marketplace Starbucks location, because they always have the most fun specialty drinks. Today, they added a “King of the Pride” collection inspired by The Lion King. I’m more of a tea girl than I am a coffee fiend, so I decided to try the Acai “Can’t Wait to be King” drink. One of the best parts of these drinks though, is that most of the ingredients used to make them are available at all Starbucks locations, so if one of these recipes sounds especially yummy to you and you can’t make it out to Disney Springs, they have the recipes posted underneath the names of the drinks, so you can just ask for it to be made at your own local Starbucks.

beverly

We reported last week than the fan favorite (or the most love to hate) Beverly soda was missing from the lineup at Club Cool, and from the online menu of the Coca-Cola Store Rooftop Beverage Bar menu. While Beverly is still missing from both the Club Cool location and the online Coke Store menu, if you visit the Rooftop Bar, Beverly it is still indeed available, as both just the soda, and as the main ingredient of a specialty cocktail, creatively titled Beverly’s Revenge. While I don’t think I will ever voluntarily drink Beverly ever again, I’m happy to see it back, because trying Beverly (and making the classic Beverly reaction face) feels like a Walt Disney World rite of passage.

Coca Cola store

I will stick with my ultimate fave, Fanta Melon Frosty. (Still waiting for Coca-Cola to start distributing this absolute perfection of a soda everywhere. The world needs this.)

That’s all for my day around Disney Springs! Keep checking WDWNT for all of the latest updates! See you next time!
