We’re back for another day around the world of yesterday, tomorrow, and fantasy, the Magic Kingdom! Welcome to another WDWNT photo report!
In the Confectionary, I found a new addition to this paintbrush series of mugs, Aladdin! I love all of the details of this series, and this quote on the inside of this mug feels especially relevant, whether you’re filling it with coffee of tea (I’m more of a tea girl myself). You can find this at the Confectionary, or across the street in the Emporium for $16.99.
There’s still no marquee on the Tomorrowland bridge. While I’m getting used to this view without the sign, I’m still anxious to see what the new one is going to look like. The new art might have already debuted on the My Disney Experience app, but we’ll have to wait and see what ends up there.
The Astro Orbiter remains closed for its unscheduled maintenance. As of right now, its anticipated to reopen on August 14th, fingers crossed they make that deadline.
Checking in on the TRON Lightcycle Run construction from both the PeopleMover and the Barnstormer queue, and there are a few more of the structural supports that have popped up since we started seeing them in our last update. This portion of the coaster will eventually be enclosed in a show building, so enjoy the view while you can.
Also in Tomorrowland, I stopped inside Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe, and was very pleasantly surprised to find that Sonny Eclipse has returned to the stage! He was definitely missed in his absence, and I’m delighted to have the opportunity to hear him serenade me at lunch again.
The awnings are still missing in the Haunted Mansion queue, make sure you keep yourself hydrated before you make the decision to commit to a lengthy Standby wait.
Over by Cinderella Castle, the pathway widening project is moving along quickly now. Today there was more decorative brick work installed, and the red bricks are getting some more painting to be different shading now.
There’s also a small stretch of pavement that looks to have been poured overnight! That’s an exciting step to see, and is definitely a sign that the project is moving closer to completion! I for one, am very excited about getting this shortcut back!
Splash Mountain was experiencing a technical downtime, but from the looks of the clouds behind Chickapin Hill, it would have been heading towards a weather downtime anyway.
After the rain, the Disney ducks were all out enjoying the weather.
The weather was on and off for the rest of the afternoon, so the Move It Shake It MousekeDance It Street Party was cancelled, but it was clear enough to send out the Rainy Day Cavalcade! This is always a special, cute little treat to get to see on a day in Magic Kingdom, and the Singin’ In the Rain portion of the soundtrack always makes me want to put on my raincoat and splash through puddles, too.
That’s all for my day around Magic Kingdom! Stay tuned to WDWNT for all the latest updates, and we’ll see you real soon!
Tickle those ivories Sunny 😎
Welcome back Sonny Eclipse!!! My wife and I look forward to seeing you again this year.
