Another day in Magic Kingdom, another day closer to the pathway widening construction by Cinderella Castle being completed. We stopped by on our walk around the Magic Kingdom to check in on the progress.
We first caught a view of some construction workers painting the top edge of the wall along the previously existing edge of the pathway. This view is over in Fantasyland, towards the side of Cinderella Castle where the Fairy Godmother, Anastasia, and Drizella meet.
On the other side of the pathway, from the Liberty Square bridge by Sleepy Hollow, contractors had moved on to painting the inside of the new wall. The brick pattern that extends down the whole new edge of the wall had been put in place over the past week as well.
I’m still hopeful that the little alcove in the middle of the new wall will mean a return of the wrought iron benches.
All of the pavement from the old pathway has been ripped up, and it looks like they’re still working on getting everything leveled out before they start paving the new path.
I’m excited to see continued progress on this project. You don’t realize how convenient a shortcut like this pathway is until you can’t use it anymore, so I am anxious to get it back. Keep checking WDWNT for the latest updates on the ongoing construction!
