Disney has revealed the name of the new Guardians of the Galaxy’s roller coaster in Epcot will be called Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind.

Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at Epcot will feature the first reverse launch into space! This thrilling, family-friendly attraction will feature a never-before-seen storytelling coaster that rotates to focus on the action – wherever it may be. Disney also revealed that the attraction will in fact be Disney Parks’ first reverse-launch coaster.

The adventure starts in the “Galaxarium,” a planetarium-like exhibition that explores the similarities and mysteries of the formation of Earth’s galaxy and Xandar. Guests will be invited to learn more about the treasures Xandar has to share – until the moment when the Guardians of the Galaxy arrive, and adventures across the cosmos ensue.

Anytime I see a Disney “coaster” and the phrase “family-friendly” is used to describe it, I get worried.
