Now that we’re entering August, summer as we know it at Disneyland Resort is going to change. All of the blocked out Annual Passholders will be returning towards the end of the month, so the Parks are sure to feel busier than they have been in June and July. So today we took a trip to Disneyland Park to soak up the last of this summer bliss. Here are the latest happenings at the Happiest Place On Earth, including character sightings, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge Crowds and more.
Disneyland Park
Main Street, U.S.A.
Our first stop in Disneyland Park is Emporium, where we find a new Aladdin Character Mug. This mug is available for $16.99 and features Aladdin, Jasmine, and Genie.
Of course, this mug wouldn’t be complete without an insightful quote.
Across the street in Disney Clothiers, “The Little Mermaid” Minnie Ear Headband is finally back in stock again.
Further down the shops, we spotted a new Stitch ornament. He sure seems to be showing off his badness level! This can go home with you for $21.99.
It sure is a beautiful morning at Disneyland Park today.
And before venturing off to other Lands, we had to take a moment to gush over this family of ducks heading for Plaza Inn.
New Orleans Square
New Orleans is unusually quiet this morning and truth be told, we love it this way.
A new Youth Haunted Mansion shirt is available now in Port Royal Curios and Curiosities for $19.99. This shirt celebrates our favorite ghostly quartet, Phantom Five.
August is sure to be filled with more unlivable fun, as Haunted Mansion celebrates 50 years.
Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge
The pathway into Batuu from Critter Country is also very quiet this morning, making for a peaceful walk into the Land. We’re sure that will change in January once Rise of the Resistance finally opens.
However, the crowds in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge did pick up a bit as we made our way to Black Spire Outpost.
Creature Stall is one of the few places not to be hit with restocking issues.
If you want to adopt a furry friend, you shouldn’t have any trouble here.
And finally, the plushies have been restocked at Toydarian Toymakers.
Policies are changing again in Dok-Ondar’s Den of Antiques. Once again, Kyber Crystals can only be purchased with the purchase of a Sith or Jedi Holocron.
After only a week, the restocked Kyber Crystals have dwindled again. Only blue and red are available for purchase at the moment.
As usual, we spot a lot of guests admiring the formidable Millennium Falcon.
And nearby, Stormtroopers keep a lookout for Resistance members and anyone else causing trouble on Batuu.
Overall, the crowds in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge aren’t bad today and Land Status is Open, as it has been since the first day reservations lifted.
Fantasyland
Back in Fantasyland, we spot several characters entertaining guests on this beautiful morning. Alice and Mad Hatter always show guests a good time as they visit from Wonderland. And nearby, we spot the Evil Queen having a little argument with Captain Hook.
And what do you know! The Pearly Band took a spin around King Arthur Carousel at the same time. You just never know what you’ll find in Fantasyland, which is what we love about this place.
Even more surprising is seeing a ten minute wait time for Dumbo The Flying Elephant. That doesn’t happen too often.
And Mad Tea Party didn’t have a wait at all.
Even Peter Pan’s Flight had a better wait time than normal.
Tomorrowland
Perhaps the most shocking sight to see was a five-minute wait for Star Tours The Adventures Continue. Guests could walk right into the building without having to wait in the outside queue. It seems Star Tours is left in the dust as guests enjoy Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge instead.
Little Green Men Store Command has a nice collection of Limited Edition Pins available. If you didn’t have a chance to buy a Disneyland 64th Birthday Pin, they’re still in stock.
In case you didn’t hear, Hyperspace Mountain will remain at Disneyland for a while longer. Ghost Galaxy will not be returning this Halloweentime, the first time since it opened in 2007.
And our last character sighting of the day was just outside Star Wars Launch Bay. It looks like Boba Fett was tired of being cooped up inside. Or perhaps he’s on the hunt for some rebel scum?
Thanks for following along with our day. For more news from the Disneyland Resort, check us out on Twitter and Instagram.
Good God what high prices!!! Clearly Disney ©® is only for the rich and entitled. Such blind greed.
OMG I can’t believe I might finally be able to ride Hyperspace Mtn!! I hope it stays through October then (I’m there for 2 days in the middle of the month); I don’t mind missing Ghost Galaxy if it means Hyperspace takes its place this year. Woo hoo!
