Going our way? Professor Phineas Plump is one heck of a hitchhiking ghost, because he’s managed to make his way over all the way from the West Coast. Released earlier last week at Disneyland, the popcorn bucket has finally made its way over to the Magic Kingdom, and was made available during tonight’s Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. The bucket forms part of a larger trio snack set comprised of a Gus beignet holder and an Ezra sipper cup!

Do note that the Professor’s briefcase is missing the “50” from the 50th Anniversary version. The bucket features a satin purple Haunted Mansion wallpaper strap.

It’s interesting to note that this is one of the few popcorn buckets that are essentially designed to hold a carton of popcorn instead of the popcorn itself.

Over on the back, you’ll notice his custom tombstone. “His travel plans have hit a bump…”

The bucket lights up and plays “Grim, Grinning Ghosts”, with a power button on the back. It stays on while the switch is on, making this a great Halloween or Haunted Mansion room decoration when not in use. That makes it almost better than the Host-A-Ghost Jars sold by Madame Leota.

The buckets retail for $20.50 and can be purchased at popcorn carts in the Magic Kingdom!

  1. I didn’t think WDW sold popcorn in the square boxes? Also, how are they going to sell Gus when WDW doesn’t have beignets? It would be wrong to break up the trio. I’d be curious to see how it will work.
