So far, 2019 has been a rough year for Red Car Trolley fans at Disney California Adventure. First, the Trolley closed in April for refurbishment related to the new Marvel Superhero Land expansion. Then the Red Car Trolley News Boys performed their last show in July. And now the Red Car Trolley Station on Buena Vista Street is undergoing refurbishment, with the entire station being blocked off by construction walls.
Red Car Trolley Station on Buena Vista Street
Right as we walked through the Disney California Adventure turnstiles, we were greeted by this sight. The construction walls stretch across a large portion of the right side of the Buena Vista Street entrance.
Disney never fails to add a little cuteness to their rather unattractive looking construction walls. These are decorated with pictures of Mickey & Friends sporting hard hats and tools.
Guests can still access the restrooms, lockers, and ATMs located behind the Trolley Station. Thankfully, there are signs on the construction walls to point guests in the right direction on the other side.
The Trolley lines are still up, as of now.
For guests who might be worried that the Red Car Trolley is being removed altogether, rest assured that at this time the attraction should be safe. According to the information online, the Red Car Trolley is expected to resume transporting guests in 2020.
What do you think of this refurbishment? Are you a fan of the Red Car Trolley attraction at Disney California Adventure?
