Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo Now Distributing Regular Silverware Instead of Themed Sporks at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Not again… We’d already gone through this in Disneyland during the first Great Space Spork Shortage of 2019, but it seems history is doomed to repeat itself, as sporks are no longer being distributed at Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, according to a tweet by Tharin White:

There’d already been some back and forth since previews as sporks were not distributed during Cast Member or even Annual Passholder previews. Actually, they were out during media previews for the new land, but many confirmed that they would not be available during the grand opening for the general public…

Except opening day came, and much to the joy of Batuu travelers, the sporks were actually around and available for all to use. It seems incredible that it took less than two weeks for them to pull the sporks or otherwise run out of supply, but it appears the spork saga is still to continue…

Again, we don’t really know what to make of this, although it’s disheartening to see this play out, almost like deja vu. The sporks seemed like an intentional, creative twist on an otherwise basic quick service restaurant. It took some thought to design and implement this concept, yet now we’re seeing it potentially be phased out due to supply issues or theft. (Cast Members were even directed to actively “watch” and detect spork lifting by errant guests.)

Whether the plain forks are here to stay, or they’re just something to hold us over until the next spork shipment arrives, we’ll just have to wait and see. But I can tell you this much, the Felucian Garden Spread will never taste the same without the Docking Bay Fork Experience.

  1. I used one on Labor Day at WDW’s HS: SWGE. I wanted to like it, I really did. But it just didn’t work when trying to maneuver through my Felucian Garden Spread (which was very tasty!). So I, for one, am glad.

  2. They were not thinking when they designed them. They were designed for right handed people. If you’re left handed, they’re useless.

  3. I didn’t know about these famed sporks, but immediately went to see if any of these stolen goods were on eBay. It’s insane that the cheapest one is $80!
