Good morning again from Disney’s Hollywood Studios! The sun is shining, Mickey’s of Hollywood has reopened, and we are ready for our close-up.
These windows at Mickey’s of Hollywood remainblacked out, they are the ones facing guest relations.
Here are a couple of the window displays that were uncovered recently, both featuring items from the new Arendelle Aqua collection!
Here’s the store’s new logo. The Imagineers definitely kept some of the old Hollywood feel when redesigning the store.
The new Mickey’s of Hollywood store logo! You can take a full tour of the new store here!
We found the only new piece of merchandise in Mickey’s of Hollywood to be a new Chip & Dale Loungefly Bag! This came as quite a surprise, as we had expected to see a little bit more of new merchandise for a newly reopened store. Nonetheless, this new bag is super cool! You can read more about it here!
Over at Legends of Hollywood, we noticed they had started to put up some wallpaper on the jewelry side of the store, this process must’ve just started overnight as none of it was here the day before.
Moving off of Hollywood Blvd., we strolled on over to Sunset Blvd over to the Tower of Terror. The attraction had a 60-minute wait before 9:00am, which is a little high in comparison to what it’s been the rest of the week thus far.
Once again, we find ourselves surrounded by detail! Just look at this old bellhop area, mind you this is located at the exit of the ride and not even within the attraction itself. Yet, the imagineers spared no expense it would seem when putting together this area.
Just to the left of the bellhop desk, there is an enclosed bulletin board, next time you’re at the park, even if you aren’t riding the Tower of Terror attraction, make your way through the exit store for the ride, into the photo purchase area and then into the exit hallway where the on-ride photos are displayed. It’s worth going in just to check all of this out! There are all sorts of old notices, letters and photos on display it’s staggering!
Heading back out and over towards Echo Lake, we came across this mysterious box surrounded by four stanchions. What could it be?
Another one of our favorite spots, located next to the 50’s Primetime Cafe. These are the fake front Echo Lake Apartments. If only we could actually live here!
Back on details, there’s even a fake set of mailboxes for the residents of the Echo Lake Apartments!
Here is a close-up of the mailboxes.
Really no changes from yesterday on the Star Tours area restroom expansion, but again today you could hear a lot of work going on inside.
Heading into Galaxy’s Edge on Batuu, we overheard some conversations and a lot of commotion all coming from the windows seen above. You can really only get a good listen of this detailed component of the area when it’s fairly less crowded and quiet. (Either early morning or late night.)
The Toydarian Toymaker was hard at work this morning! Oh, and before we head back out to Earth, in case you’re keeping track, yes the red kyber crystals are still out of stock at Dok-Ondar’s Den of Antiquities!
We headed on over to the Pixar Place, where there wasn’t much going on as usual. However we did run into Frozone from The Incredibles playing with a Luxo Ball!
Before heading out, we stopped to see if there had been any changes to the construction walls over at the Chinese Theatre. Nothing seemed to have changed as of today… such a mysterious project!
Well folks, as they say in Hollywood “that’s a wrap!” We are so happy that Mickey’s of Hollywood has finally re-opened, the lost art of wallpapering has returned from the 90’s, and some of the nitty-gritty details from earlier Disney Imagineers still remain in at least some areas of the park!
Thanks for reading and stay tuned for the next photo report from WDWNT!
