Possible Wi-Fi Upgrades Coming to Disney’s Art of Animation Resort at Walt Disney World

According to permits filed with Orange County, improved Wi-Fi may be on the way to Disney’s Art of Animation Resort. A slew of permits were filed today that indicated the “installation of Cat6a Cabling for Wi-Fi”.

These permits were filed for locations all over the resort, from the Cozy Cone pool to the Check-In building.

For those of you not experts in communication technology, Cat6a cable is the latest iteration of Gigabit Ethernet cabling. Meaning this cable is capable of transferring the fastest speeds of internet possible.

With the increased use of mobile devices and apps (My Disney Experience) that require internet access, increased Wi-Fi speeds would greatly improve guest satisfaction at the resort.

Currently, high speed internet is only available at the following Value Resorts: Disney’s Pop Century Resort and Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort. These improvements were installed during each respective resort’s room refurbishment project.

  1. Oh thank goodness! Even at family resorts sometimes you gotta work a little. Having to go to the main building, which is always noisy, was such an inconvenience. Couldn’t even share pictures with family online from our room. Basic necessity nowadays.
