Lots of changes have been happening at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort with the addition of the new Enchanted Rose “Beauty and The Beast”-inspired lounge. Though most importantly, guests from all over have been mostly concerned with the location of the Grand Floridian Society Orchestra and where they would be preforming, as the area on the second floor had been under construction. Last night, we spotted the band’s new setup in the lobby.

The Grand Floridian Society Orchestra has had to move several times in the past few months with all of the construction occurring, having initially moved from their original location to a temporary stage in the center of the lower level lobby.

They’re currently located immediately to the left as guests enter the resort lobby from the porte-cochère or main entrance. Although this set up doesn’t look entirely permanent either, it looks like this might be their current home for the time being.

The area had been previously curtained off as it was being renovated for the orchestra’s arrival.

The area was enhanced for the orchestra’s newest performing location this year, with a new sound system and two-level stage.  As you can see, families and guests gather around the band to hear up close and dance, but the music can still be heard throughout.

We’re glad to see that the orchestra is still around, as it is a part of Grand Floridian tradition for guests to enjoy their music in the lobby and upper floors of the atrium.

  1. Stupid. What actually made the GF unique (like the poly waterfall) as part of the whole victorian theme is put off to the side. Why they couldn’t have expanded the 2nd floor balcony or expanded the 3rd floor balcony (club level) to make room for the orchestra is just unfathomable to me and shows lazy thinking and I guarantee that bar theme won’t last.
