Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe is shining bright with its newest addition, the Plant-Based Vegan Sloppy Joe. This vegan twist on an American favorite comes with a side of French fries for $12.99. We paired our meal with a strawberry lemonade slush for $4.99 more. It was pretty refreshing!

The sandwich comes wrapped in foil to contain all the “meaty” goodness and temperature, which we appreciate. Not to mention, as soon as you unwrap, your nostrils get hit with an amazing aroma. It honestly smells just like any real-meat sloppy joe would!

Beyond Crumbles by Beyond Meat give the sloppy joe a “beefy” flavor and texture without it actually including meat. The first bite surprised my taste buds (and my mind.) The slaw, which comes on top contains; cabbage, purple cabbage, carrots, celery with a mix of oil, yellow mustard, and rice wine vinegar as a dressing. Personally, the slaw had a bit too much yellow mustard for our liking. The yellow mustard was a tad overpowering. Despite that, the addition of the slaw was great for the overall texture of the sloppy joe.

  1. Refreshing that Disney are finally producing decent food for vegetarians and vegans. Some very good options being made available across the parks and resorts. Even as a carnivore I would be very much tempted by this burger alone. Options for all. Even the 2%, Keith.
