Welcome to a very chilly day here at the Magic Kingdom. It’s pretty cold today, even for the tourists. The gift shops were extremely crowded first thing this morning with guests purchasing warmer clothing.
The Emporium had several sweatshirt options on display behind the register. Many people were purchasing blankets, too.
As we made our way into Tomorrowland, we could see even more scrims around the outside of the PeopleMover. The thematic elements from the 1994 “New Tomorrowland” are being removed one by one. If you look over the top of the scrims, you can see that a few of these pieces have already been removed.
A quick loop on the PeopleMover will give you a little glimpse from another angle.
Inside Star Traders, it looks like a strange silver layer has gone up on some of the walls. We can only hope the refurbishment isn’t complete and maybe they’ll be adding a new mural.
Many attractions were experiencing “delayed openings” today. The park opened at 9, and by noon, neither the Haunted Mansion nor Splash Mountain had opened for the day. Being a cold day, nobody was too upset about Splash Mountain being closed, but many guests were disappointed they couldn’t visit the ghosts.
In Fantasyland, a pair of new treats have arrived themed to “The Little Mermaid”. The Dinglehopper Noodles look just like Ariel’s long red hair, and even comes with a tiny dinglehopper! There’s also a sweet hibiscus cake, so Dream Big, Little Mermaid. Be sure to read our full review on these new limited time treats.
Inside Pinocchio’s Village Haus, the brightly colored Honey Dijon packets caught my attention. We spotted these at Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Café, too, so it might be time to grab some chicken fingers and give it a try.
It’s fun to read the wishes left in the book inside Pinocchio Village Haus.
Hi Dale!
The Haunted Mansion ghosts are now Christmas ghosts. You’ll find Phineas at a popcorn cart near Liberty Tree Tavern and Gus and Ezra are inside Pecos Bill’s Tall Tale Inn and Café. Maybe these are the ghosts of Christmas past, present, and future? Let’s just theme them to Christmas. At least Sven is appropriate for this time of year, even if he was supposed to be a Christmas party exclusive. You can get Sven daily from Pecos Bill’s or B.B. Wolf’s Sausage Co. at Disney Springs.
Even the tikis know it’s cold out.
On our way out of the park, we took a quick look at some of the changes around the entrance. A new section has opened up around the entrance near the Will Call kiosk.
We also noticed more of the new sidewalk has been filled in. The new walkway to the Contemporary is making a little progress since our last update. A section has been filled in near the bus loop.
Well, that’s it for today. It’s time to get inside and warm up with some hot chocolate and Disney+. Thanks for following us and we’ll see you next time!
The Pinocchio wish book is truly a hidden gem of the Magic Kingdom. One day I was reading it and saw the pages filled with thoughtful wishes of goodwill for others. And then I saw the giant, crayon-scrawl of a 5-year-old that said “I WISH BURGER”
I don’t want Tomorrowland to be renovated, I like the 90s design.
I like the 90s design. I don’t want Tomorrowland to be renovated, they’re gonna ruin it.
