IAAPA Expo 2019 is underway in Orlando, and our intrepid reporters noticed that ProSlide, makers of Summit Plummet and Teamboat Springs, casually announced a new attraction could be coming to Disney’s Blizzard Beach.

Information about the new attraction is scarce at this time, as questions about the type of attraction and opening date were deflected by ProSlide representatives at the booth.

Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park is currently undergoing an extended refurbishment, with possibly enough time to install a new attraction if planned. Disney has stated that this refurbishment will include “additional refurbishment work and enhancements” above the normal work. However, this refurbishment could also be tied to a rebuild of an older, existing water slide, but there’s always the possibility of a new water slide attraction being built. Based off of the signage, the new attraction is set to open before 2022. The park is set to reopen after refurbishment in January 2020.
