The icon of Sunshine Tree Terrace––our favorite little orange bird––got his very own dessert for the 2019 Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party! Described as an “orange-scented white chocolate mousse filled with orange curd with a citrus almond cream cake, buttercream leaves, and a white chocolate piece,” let’s delicately dive in.

An Orange Bird Christmas – $5.99

This is probably the nicest-looking holiday item at the party. While it might not scream Christmas, Orange Bird does look adorable with his Santa Hat.

The orange taste was very pronounced throughout the dish, but it wasn’t overly tart. Even someone who isn’t a citrus fan will still like this. The mousse was very rich and had plenty of orange flavor, however we do wish there was more or a larger citrus-almond cake to balance the strong, rich taste.

The cake wasn’t flavorful, and there wasn’t a lot of it. It was basically just a baked pedestal used to hold the mousse.

The exterior of the dessert is very thick and hard to break, so be careful it doesn’t roll off the plate as you try to ear it. We really had to really chip at it to break through, but once you get in, it’s really good. Definitely worth a try!
