Ho, ho, ho! Merry Disney Christmas, everyone! It’s the holiday season at Tokyo Disney Resort, and that means a new slate of food to devour and review for you all! So, let’s take a closer look at the tasty treats to celebrate the season this year!
One of the things about snacks found in both America and Japan is the funny little quirks you’ll come across. For example, with the common snack of sausage, often found in southern US meals or breakfasts, in Japan sausage is frequently served on a bone! Yes, I even walked through a Japanese street festival a couple of days ago and saw boned sausage! And Tokyo DisneySea is no exception, it seems. But that’s quite alright with me, honestly. And this version has cheese too? I’m sold! Let’s give it a try.
Sausage With Cheese – ¥400 ($3.68)
Barnacle Bill’s typically serves regular sausage on a bone, and this same treat was offered over the summer for Disney Pirates Summer. Boned sausage is a far safer bet for less adventurous diners, all things considered. After all, it’s just sausage with cheese.
And that previous assessment is really what you get. Seriously, there’s not much fancy going on here. The sausage is a bit dry on the outside. But once you bite in the first time, it’s far less noticeable. Considering how sausage itself tastes, the cheese is a welcome addition. Or maybe that’s the American in me that just loves cheese on almost anything. The bone provides a nice grip, which saves me from actually having to hold it or use a fork. And that’s really about it. It’s not a complex culinary experience, and I don’t really think it’s all that special. But the Sausage with Cheese is a nice (if a bit expensive) bite-size snack. Pick it up at Barnacle Bill’s through December 25th!
