PHOTOS: Beginnings of a Structure Appear at The Cove Hotel Site in the EPCOT Resort Area

A new hotel is coming to the EPCOT resort area. Last November, Marriott International announced the addition to the Swan and Dolphin hotel complex, which the company owns and operates. The new hotel is called The Cove and will be located across Epcot Resorts Boulevard from the Swan and Dolphin, directly beside Fantasia Gardens Miniature Golf. This new tower will add 349 rooms to the Swan and Dolphin complex. It will be designed to cater to the needs of large groups, such as conventions. It also will have a rooftop venue for events. Let’s check out what’s happening at the site.

Firstly, the new parking lot has opened for Fantasia Gardens Miniature Golf since our last update. The Cove’s construction site expanded to encompass Fantasia Gardens’ old parking lot. We will warn you… the new parking lot is an odd shape and the parking spots are quite tight. We noticed that multiple bigger vehicles had struggled to park.

Wide walkways lined with palm trees now lead from the parking lot to Fantasia Gardens.

Signage and concept art advertising The Cove are posted on the construction walls.

Two tall cranes present onsite break up the skyline.

The beginnings of a structure poke up from behind the construction walls. From the amount of wood and rebar being used in the current structure, it seems that concrete is about to be poured to form pillars.

After walking across Epcot Resorts Boulevard, more of the construction site was visible. Lots of excavation was underway.

From this angle, more of the structure was viewable. Most of the work is concentrated on the building’s foundation.

A piece of material was being lifted and lowered into place.

The Cove is set to open in 2021. Are you excited about this addition to the EPCOT resort area? As always, keep checking WDWNT for all of the latest construction news at the Disney Parks.
