PHOTOS: Innoventions West Building Frame Completely Removed at EPCOT

Future World has fallen into a state of mourning today. Overnight, the remaining pieces of the former home of Club Cool, Fountain View, and Innoventions were removed, leaving a building-sized hole in our hearts. The ongoing demolition work as part of the reimagining of EPCOT has been one of the most visible signs of change around the park during the last few months, so we stopped by today to see how different the park now looks.

The view from the ground is now pretty wide open.

Where once stood a large building and, more recently, metal frame, is now completely void of anything.

From above, the monorail view gives you a view of the scope of what has been removed.

The remaining frame work is now laying on the ground inside the construction walls.

All that remains from the former building now is the wall of windows and automatic doors.

Looking into the site, we can see where the framing was cut from the beams on the ground, leaving just metal stumps.

  1. I am looking at the big picture. EPCOT has gone through many transformations since it opened. Disney has seen that with many changes to the other parks, EPCOT was lacking and park attendance was declining. I feel once all the changes and updates are made, we will reminisce of what is gone and celebrate what has replaced some of our beloved attractions. Walt Disney himself felt change was necessary to keep the parks relevant. Didn’t he say something to the affect that as long as there was imagination the parks would never be completed? I would agree. Disney has always set the bar higher and this is a continuation of that.

  2. I’m sorry but they are changing the entire feel of Epcot. Instead of life style innovations and learning about other cultures, it’s becoming just another kiddie park advertising Disney movies

    • The Problem is that a small group of executives in California (CEO, CFO, VPs) make these decisions. How about the masses/Annual passholders making decisions for a change.

  3. It’s going to take time to get used to. When my kids were small enough to still get tired and get in their stroller we would head to the back hallway and sit in the a/c to take a break while they got a power nap in. My wife would take the time to make sure Starbucks stayed in business. We always got pictures in front of the fountain as well. Not to mention all the time spent seeing Mickey, Minnie, and Goofy together. Great memories that will always be remembered. We’ll just have to make new ones in the new layout over the next several years.
