If you saw our earlier post on the big reveal of Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway marquee, we now have a closer look at the new sign that was installed overnight at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

You can’t miss the new sign as you walk up to the Chinese Theatre. It lies right on the middle of the entrance, covering parts of the building’s iconic dragon design.

Excited Cast Members were seen taking photographs inside the Theatre’s courtyard this morning.

The huge, neon-clad sign features Mickey and Minnie, as well as the attraction logo. On top, you have some flashy cartoon-style accents that will light up in the night.

There’s even a new A-frame out in front of the entrance that says, “All aboard! Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway will begin boarding March 4th.” The top of the A-frame sign mirrors the same design as seen on the marquee.

As with any complex neon sign, it’ll look best lit up at night as the characters are covered by unlit neon tubes by day.

As you can see from the extra arms, it appears Mickey and Minnie will wave at guests thanks to the flashing light effects.

For now, the FastPass+ and Stand-by signs have yet to be fully revealed as they are still beneath protective decals, but it’s only a matter of time before the attraction finally opens and we get to step into a world where mouse rules apply.

Are you excited for the opening of Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway? We sure are. In the meantime, you can shop for the new Runnamuck Railroad attraction vehicle toy train in select stores across property.

Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway opens March 4th, 2020 at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and in 2022 at Disneyland Park. If you can’t wait for either of these attractions, check out our full scene-by-scene walkthrough to get a better idea of what they’ll be like.

  1. Do you know when we will be able to start making fast passes for this in the WDW app? I’m coming in mid March??

  2. I am seriously wondering how this will effect the Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular and Wonderful World of Animation I would think the sign would interfere a bit.

    • They will most likely turn the lights on the sign off during those shows, the same way the ferris wheel goes dark during all World of Color shows at DCA.
