PHOTO REPORT: Magic Kingdom 3/5/20 (New Pin Trading Bags, Construction Updates, Haunted Mansion Still Down, and More)

Good morning from a hot and sunny Magic Kingdom! Let’s see what sort of magical mischief we can get into today.

Pin trading bag

The Emporium on Main Street, U.S.A. is always the best place to find fun new merchandise. Today, we found a pin trading crossbody bag, just one of a whole line of new pin trading bags coming soon to Walt Disney World. Some have already debuted in Disneyland, and three bags have made it here.

This one has a quilted denim fabric outside, and a removable padded felt book for pins inside. You can display and carry your pins in style!

Tomorrowland scrims

Not one, but two new scrims appeared since we were here on Tuesday. These scrims are in place for the refurbishment of the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover upper and lower supports.

The two scrims on the far left are the newest additions to what is rapidly becoming a wall of scrim towers. These scrims line the PeopleMover on the right hand side of Tomorrowland as you enter from the Hub.

Concrete resurfacing and painting is being done, as well as painting all the lower legs white to match the new Tomorrowland aesthetic.

Tron construction

Over at the construction site of TRON Lightcycle Run, everyone’s favorite mound of dirt is getting a facelift. This large pile of earth has been sitting for some time right in front of the construction as viewed from the PeopleMover, and has annoyingly blocked the view of all the happenings on the site. Today, a front loader was busy at work on it.

Work on the track and immediate surrounding areas has been going well, with these scaffolding-type pieces going in recently.

Figment MagicBand

Over at the Tomorrowland Light & Power Co. D-Tech On Demand station, we found this new MagicBand featuring a retro Dreamfinder and Figment.

Orange bird MagicBand

There was also this fun new MagicBand featuring Orange Bird. You can check out more pictures and details about them here.

Look up

Today’s installment in the “Look Up” series is a little less elaborate than usual, but we couldn’t pass up this beautiful timepiece. Hint: it will help you make sure you’re traveling on time.

Haunted mansion down

We were sad to see that Haunted Mansion is still down for unplanned maintenance. For more information on this developing story, see our full article here.

Peter Pan

We found Peter Pan taking a break from his usual meet and greet area to play with children in the seating area next to Rapunzel’s Tower. We love seeing fun interactions like this.

Jungle cruise line

Despite the recent drama, guests would not be kept from riding Jungle Cruise, come high wait times or high water. This was the FastPass line, which the Cast Member claimed would be a 35 minute wait, that stretched up to Skipper Canteen.
