Japan is one of our favorite pavilions in all of World Showcase, not only for Mitsukoshi, but also because they constantly have great booths for the many food festivals held around the park. So, let’s dive in Hanami, which is back again for the 2020 EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival, with many new menu items for us to try this year.

Frushi: Strawberry, Pineapple and Cantaloupe wrapped in Sweet Rice and Pink Soy Wrap served with Whipped Cream, Drizzled Berry Sauce and Toasted Coconut – $6.00
The popular Frushi returns with a dish that’s just as pleasant as previous years. Not only does Frushi taste great, but it looks good too. The sweet rice wrapped around the different fruit made for a crisp and refreshing snack.
*NEW” Menchi Katsu Slider: Japanese-style Panko-breaded Beef Patty topped with Tonkatsu Sauce, Mayonnaise, Cucumber, and Pickled Lotus Root – $6.00
The slider was incredible. This was probably our favorite from the booth.
The bread was super soft and had a lightly sweet flavor.
The Panko breaded beef patty had a perfect crunch and awesome flavor.
We would definitely get this again!
*NEW* Salmon Flower Ikura: Fresh-cut Salmon, Salmon Roe, Spinach, Watermelon Radish, and Chilled Ramen tossed with Poke Sauce – $8.25
This was delicious and served in an incredibly adorable flower pot. The noodles were cooked very well; they weren’t mushy at all. The cool noodles and salmon paired well very together.
*NEW* Kirin Draft Beer (5.0% ABV) – $4.50
According to Kirin Ichiban, their beer boasts an “all malt formula using only the finest two-row barley malt. European noble hops. A distinctively rich flavor, smooth finish, no bitter aftertaste.”
*NEW* Strawberry Nigori Sake – $7.50
The strawberry sake was awful. None of us enjoyed it.
It’s just got a harsh taste that makes it hard to drink.
*NEW* Furano Martini: Vodka, Lavender Syrup and Yuzu Juice – $7.50
The martini was delicious.
It wasn’t too sweet, but you could taste the alcohol.
This was a great option from a overall impressive Outdoor Kitchen.
