Walt Disney World Resort Website Experiencing Occasional Unavailability Following Announcement of Temporary Park Closure

Just hours after the announcement was made that the parks of the Walt Disney World Resort would temporarily close after Sunday, March 15th as a result of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, visitors to the resort’s website were met with occasional unavailability.

Comicbook.com‘s Russ Burlingame reported the outages. These were confirmed by WDWNT staff, though some time later, other staff members reported the website was running normally for them, suggesting that either Disney has since resolved the situation or the outages have fluctuated from user to user.

The issues likely stem from a large volume of guests looking to reschedule or cancel their plans as the resort prepares to close until the end of March, possibly overloading Disney’s systems.

Resort hotels and Disney Springs have been announced to remain open as the parks close.
