Arising from the ashes of some drama that happened earlier this week regarding the streaming of “Celebrating 25 Magical Years of Disney on Broadway”, the concert finally happened and a lot of good came out of it.
According to the New York Post, $609,479 was raised for the COVID-19 Emergency Assistance Fund for entertainment workers that were affected by the pandemic.
The good news continues because the money donated may be matched dollar for dollar by multiple producers, since multiple Broadway shows are slated to remain closed through at least June 7th.
If you missed the livestream or simply want to watch it again, you can find it here and it will remain up for the rest of this week. If you feel inclined to donate to the relief fund for affected workers, you may make a donation on the Broadway Cares donation website.
