The Muppets Release Video of Kermit the Frog Social Distancing in the Swamp and Singing of Promise During Performance of Rainbow Connection

As if this time isn’t painful enough during park closures around the globe and no reopening date announced, The Muppets released a video on Twitter that I’m hesitant to share. Kermit the Frog has graced us with a video that may tug at your heart strings.

Sitting in a swamp, armed with his banjo, Kermit starts to sing… Rainbow Connection. Ouch. What makes this even more bittersweet is that it’s not even a clip; it’s a video of Kermit gleefully singing the entire song to us. 3 minutes and 45 seconds of sweet, sweet sorrow.

It was just released and as of this writing, it already has well over 2k retweets and over 6k likes.

As Kermit sings, he really says it best and finds a way to connect us all during this time.

“Who said that every wish
Would be heard and answered
When wished on the morning star
Somebody thought of that
And someone believed it
And look what it’s done so far”

Let’s just take a note from Kermit and keep on believing and wishing that soon we’ll all be reconnected in our happiest and most magical places!

  1. Love this song and the Original Muppet Movie! Each of their songs fill our hearts with Joy and positive energy!

  2. I am one of the few people who LIKED the Muppet revival on ABC. I wish other people had given it a chance. After they took their break mid-season and adjusted it got even better. I’ve binged it a few times on Disney+ already. My 3 year old daughter loves it.

I wish they would do something with the Muppets beyond “Muppet Babies”.
