During these troubled times, we need as much faith, trust, and pixie dust as possible, and over at Walt Disney World Resort, Cast Members are making magic by lighting the night with some familiar faces. Disney’s Contemporary Resort has lit up a series of rooms across its iconic A-frame facade in the shape of a heart, something seen across hotels and high-rises across the nation writing out messages or symbols of support for whoever might come across them. Over at Bay Lake Tower, the big cheese himself––Mickey Mouse––is illuminated across various rooms. These photos come courtesy of one of our favorite accounts on Instagram, @tradzak. Check out his photos below for that bit of Disney magic across the starry sky.
Here’s the heart as seen from the side of Disney’s Contemporary Resort. Currently, this is as close to the Magic Kingdom as anyone can get, and for many, the Contemporary is one of the first things you see (right after the Magic Kingdom toll plaza) that signal that you are about to arrive at the Most Magical Place on Earth.
Here’s a look at the adorable Mickey Mouse lit up at Bay Lake Tower.
It is unknown whether these will remain on for the duration of the indefinite closures, but at least these sweet gestures will be preserved forever in photographs!
As a reminder, Walt Disney World Resort remains closed to all guests due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
Well done Disney!
Can you imagine walking around the Magic Kingdom during the day when it was totally deserted? It would be surreal, perhaps frightening.
Even more reason now why it’s my favorite resort…
This is impressive and reminds me of the Disney Magic that lives on there.
Thanks Walt and crew!
WDW is truly wonderful. Can’t wait to go again as soon as the all clear is sounded.
