PHOTOS: Construction on Flamingo Crossings Hotels and Disney College Program Housing Continues Through COVID-19 Pandemic

Amid the quiet of the COVID-19 pandemic, one Disney construction site continues to push forward. Flamingo Crossings, home to the new Disney College Program housing and multiple shops, restaurants, and hotels, remains an active construction site.

The northwest corner of Western Way and Flamingo Crossings Blvd. features several hotels currently under construction.

These hotels will be located along Flagler Ave. The orange-wrapped building will be the new Homewood Suites, according to permits filed for the location. A Hampton Inn & Suites is also planned for the area.

Another hotel is being constructed further west along Flagler Ave. Among the hotels to be located in the Flamingo Crossings area are a Holiday Inn Resort and a Hyatt.

Traveling south on Flamingo Crossings Blvd. reveals a large construction site that is currently being used as storage just north of the Disney College Program housing.

Work on the Disney College Program housing is moving at a rapid pace. The northern-most buildings on the eastbound side of Flamingo Crossings Blvd. are nearly complete.

The housing will be known as Flamingo Crossings Village.

Here, we can see the security check-in and drop-off areas being worked on.

The large buildings in the middle will be the registration and offices for the housing center.

Outside the parking lot for Flaming Crossings Village, work is ongoing to lay down more utility lines.

Bus stops for the Disney College Program transportation busses have been completed.

At the southern end of the complex, more housing is being worked on, though these portions are not as far along in the construction process.

Across the street, more apartment-style buildings are going vertical along the western side of Flamingo Crossings Blvd.

  1. This is wonderful news. Can you update us about the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser? I’ve heard rumors that construction on this may be halted altogether!! Please do some research into this and tell us this it not so!! Thank you.

  2. When the College Program does return I hope they can live in new housing. Vista Way fails a black light test more than Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin.
