Grapefruit Garage at Disney Springs Reopens Despite Ongoing Closure During Phase 1

As previously stated in a My Disney Experience push notification, Disney Springs remains closed at this time, however today marks a big day for many businesses across Florida with the start of Phase 1 reopenings for restaurants and retail. While no restaurants or stores have reopened, the Grapefruit Garage at Disney Springs has reopened. It’s typically used for Cast Member and third-party employee parking, meaning the shopping center could be revving up to reopen in the near future.

As established under Phase 1, restaurants can reopen, with only outdoor seating (with six feet of space between tables) and indoor seating at 25%. Retail can also operate at 25% of indoor capacity. It’s been determined that it’s too difficult to carry out social distancing in movie theaters, so those venues will remain closed. Bars, gyms, and personal services such as hair dressers will also remain closed. Face masks are recommended for close face-to-face interactions or work, but no fines will be issued to people not wearing masks.

Walt Disney World Resort, including Disney Springs, remains closed indefinitely, and no official reopening date has been identified.

  1. This WHOLE situation has gotten totally out of hand! AND who is to blame? Sounds to me from everything I have been reading, it is the fault of the Chinese Government, totally and completely!

  2. I used to go there for a nice walk around the lake while listening to music or podcasts. No shopping or food, just enjoying the atmosphere of Disney Springs and Saratoga Springs. I wonder if I could do that now?
