Today, Walt Disney World became the last major central Florida theme park to present and submit its phased reopening plans to the county for approval. Walt Disney World plans to reopen Magic Kingdom and Disney’s Animal Kingdom, as well as select resorts on July 11. On July 15, EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios will reopen. DVC resorts are scheduled to reopen on June 22.
All reopening plans submitted require endorsement from the Orange County Mayor before they can be submitted to Florida Governor Ron DeSantis. Mayor Demings has just signed off on the approval letter, addressed to the Governor for final approval:
Disney must now await final approval from the Governor before officially announcing full reopening plans and details.

Asymptomatic carriers by definition, do not show symptoms of this viral infection. No fever, etc. How will Disney checking everybody’s temperature help? Disney needs to stop this bit of theater and just get on with it. Post a sign out front that states “Your health is your responsibility, not ours”. Then open the doors. No masks. No temperature checks. Just get out of the way and let people be responsible for their own health.
Well, I can only be responsible for my health if you are wearing a mask and not breathing, talking or coughing your virus-filled breath on me if you are an asymptomatic carrier. So me taking care of me is asking you to wear a mask. You taking care of you is asking me to wear a mask. I would rather not wear one but your exhalations might harm me. It would be so much easier if carriers turned green so we could tell! I don’t want to sicken any cast members either if I am an asymptomatic carrier.
This is a terrible plan! There will be more COVID deaths Many will suffer because of this. We must lock down everything until November 3. Follow the science!
