Remember theme parks? Me too. Back when the Disney parks in Tokyo were open––get this––they sold popcorn. Hard to believe, right? But seriously, Tokyo Disney Resort is well-known for having wacky and unique popcorn flavors, and the newest so far is the Matcha White Chocolate flavor, introduced last December at Tokyo DisneySea. So, we took the opportunity to give it a taste for review, and even filmed the occasion! You can watch our video review below to see our thoughts, or scroll down for a brief review. We had differing opinions. I’m a huge fan of matcha, which is essentially green tea flavor. Tom, on the other hand, was rather unenthusiastic. If you’re familiar with the matcha flavor, it’s a very earthy flavor that tends to come out very strong and overwhelms almost anything else it’s paired with. As such, you don’t really taste the white chocolate side. It’s really just matcha popcorn, in all honesty. Long story short, you won’t like this unless you like matcha. Otherwise, we recommend sticking to flavors like black pepper or milk chocolate.
