In case you haven’t heard the great news yet, Walt Disney World plans on a phased reopening of its theme parks starting July 11. Pending government approval, Magic Kingdom and Disney’s Animal Kingdom will reopen on that July 11 date, with EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios reopening on July 15.

Plans were presented during an Orange County meeting yesterday, headed by Jim MacPhee, Senior Vice President of Operations of Walt Disney World Resort.
During the presentation, it was announced that Disney plans to deploy a series of soft reopening tactics for select audiences several days prior to the July 11 reopening with Cast previews and affinity soft-opening preview days. While the actual dates of the previews are still unknown, these preview days will include Annual Passholders, DVC members, and Club 33 members. Advance reservations may be required, and further details have yet to be released.
The phased reopening proposal passed with zero opposition from the Task Force, and has since been endorsed by Mayor Jerry Demings. It is currently pending approval from the Florida Governor.
Resort hotels and water parks were not mentioned during the reopening proposal, however it has been confirmed that DVC resorts and Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground will reopen starting June 22.
That’s a start, but still real concerned over the reservation system. Universal isn’t requiring it and it does not seem fair at all for DVC members and Annual Passholders, which I am both, to potentially lose points and waste our Annual Pass if we can not get in the park during our stay. I really hope Disney will use a little pixie dust and change this.
Disney did put out that AP’s would have priority on RSVPs in the park “New Ticket Sales and Hotel Reservations: At this time, we are temporarily pausing new ticket sales and Disney Resort hotel reservations so we can focus on guests with existing tickets and reservations. Existing ticket holders and Annual Passholders will be able to make a theme park reservation before new tickets are sold; we will be reaching out to these guests soon to provide additional details. We will resume new sales of tickets and Disney Resort hotel reservations after that period of time. Theme park reservations will be limited due to attendance limitations and will be subject to availability.”

Sounds about right, and makes sense … called the early access to C33, DVC and Passholders last week. Hopefully it’s nice when we go down, so those masks aren’t too bad : ) … just woke up from dream, it’s gonna suck with the masks, but, we’re still going once the access times are released.
Any update about the possible previews? We are arriving June 27 and are praying for some Disney magic.
Are they not doing previews for DVC as previously stated?
