After months of speculation, Disney has officially announced that Major League Soccer will be resuming its 25th season at Walt Disney World Resort, hosting the MLS is Back Tournament at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex from July 8 to August 11. The unique tournament will include all 26 MLS clubs competing in a continuous schedule of 54 total matches that will take place nearly every day––but just as interesting to Disney fans is where exactly the players will be staying.
While no details regarding accommodations were included in Disney’s earlier announcement, on the MLS Soccer news site, it states the following:
The Walt Disney World Resort and the Swan and Dolphin Hotel will be providing enhanced cleaning of all venues and enforcing appropriate capacity-management and other social distancing guidelines.
Between MLS and the NBA also looking to resume their interrupted seasons at Walt Disney World, there has been much speculation amongst Disney fans just where these teams will be housed. For now, it seems the MLS will be staying at the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resorts. Just recently, it was revealed that the Swan and Dolphin would no longer accept new reservations through the end of July.
The MLS is Back Tournament is scheduled to begin on July 8 and is set to run through August 11.
