With the disappointing news that Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Parties have been canceled for 2020, guests had a lot of questions regarding their purchased tickets for the special event and how refunds would be handled.
If tickets were purchased with a credit card, a refund will be processed to your original form of payment. If tickets were purchased with a Disney Gift Card of Disney Rewards Dollars, guests will receive an email with a new digital Disney Gift Card for the refunded amount. If tickets were purchased with cash, a Cast Member will call guests to discuss refund options, including a mailed check or a Disney Gift Card.
With the announcement yesterday, Disney stated that “Guests who have already bought tickets to these events will be assisted with refunds over the coming weeks.” While we’re not sure the timeline of when refunds will be processed, we do know a little bit more about how guests can receive their refund if purchased through Disney.
Event dates for this year’s MNSSHP were:
- August: 13, 18, 21, 25, 28
- September: 1, 4, 7, 11, 13, 15, 18, 20, 22, 25, 27, 29
- October: 1, 2, 4, 6, 8, 9, 12, 13, 15, 16, 18, 20, 22, 23, 25, 27, 29, 31
- November: 1
I haven’t seen any information about this specifically yet, but will the cancelation of MNSSHP have any impact on holiday decorations around Magic Kingdom? The pumpkin/orange/fall decorations are amazing and it’d be doubly devastating to have both the party and decorations canceled.
I had already phoned up asking to cancel this and refund appeared on my credit card within a day or two. Same for another activity that was cancelled by Disney. They have been very quick, efficient, & helpful.
